192 kWh Off-Grid Solar Battery System Powers a Remote Shrimp Farm
A real-world aquaculture project using twelve 16 kWh Lithtech batteries and two Solis hybrid inverters to power shrimp pond aerators where no utility grid is available.

For a shrimp farm, electricity is not merely a facility expense. It directly supports the aerators that circulate the water and maintain the conditions required for aquaculture. An interruption to that power supply can quickly become an operational risk.

This project presented an additional challenge: the ponds are located in a remote area with no access to the utility grid. The customer therefore requires a complete off-grid energy system capable of collecting solar energy during the day, storing it and supplying the aeration loads when solar production falls.
The completed system combines twelve 16 kWh Lithtech lithium batteries in parallel, providing 192 kWh of nominal storage capacity, together with two Solis hybrid inverters.
The Challenge: Aeration Cannot Depend on Daylight Alone
The farm contains multiple lined shrimp ponds equipped with rows of aerators. Although the rooftop photovoltaic array produces energy during daylight hours, the aeration demand does not automatically stop when clouds reduce solar output or when the sun sets.
A solar-only installation would leave a mismatch between energy production and the operating schedule of the farm. Battery storage closes that gap by retaining excess daytime generation and making it available when the photovoltaic output is below the load demand.
